Airborne Network Server System for Airbus A400M
Astronautics has developed a Network Server System (NSS) that provides a modular, open architecture, core processing system platform for real time communication with aircraft mission and avionics systems that supports the hosting of Astronautics, operator, and 3rd party-developed applications. The NSS consists of dual Integrated Network Server Units (INSU), Airborne and Portable Maintenance Access Terminals, Personal Identification Device Readers, and a Printer. Each of the two INSUs hosts dual processors including a PowerPC using a Green Hills Integrity DO-178 Real Time Operating System (RTOS) in an open computer architecture with many interfaces to ensure strong connectivity to a variety of aircraft systems.
- Dual solid-state mass-storage devices in each computer
- ARINC-664, 80x ARINC-429 Receive Channels, Serial, Discrete
- Redundant and flexible
- DO-178B software verification, DO-254 hardware verification
- Hosts Astronautics IA4CS Common Critehttps://www.astronautics.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=11133&action=edit#ria as security portal for the entire aircraft
- Hosts Astronautics Data Loading Control System software as data loader for entire aircraft
- Programmable server and secure interface server functions
- Scalable through addition of applications
- Significant growth potential to integrate additional sensors and systems
- Operators and 3rd party application providers can develop tactical applications
- Introduces modern security and data loading functionality
