Dating back to the mid-1990s when Astronautics certified the first civil certified Network Server to host the Federal Express TITAN maintenance application, Astronautics has been at the forefront of Server development from the Airborne File Server, Onboard Maintenance Terminal Computer Unit, dual processor Integrated Network Server Unit, and now the NEXIS™ in several variants. This family of Servers is designed for use as a maintenance unit and network server hosting many Astronautics, OEM/Integrator, and 3rd party applications on the aircraft. These applications include maintenance, Internet/network connections, communications, flight logs, security, data loading, document browsers, and other flight activities. Mass Memory has evolved with removable devices, increasing memory size, and into Solid State Devices. The Servers have been PMA-approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
