ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – SUSTAINING ENGINEERING
Responsibilities:

Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and performance of Astronautics products.

Analyze analog and power circuit designs with potential reliability or performance issues.
-
Develop technical solutions to known production, reliability, or performance problem.
-
Demonstrate technical leadership by verifying that design changes meet or exceed customer requirements and specifications.
-
Generate technical reports to support customer discussions and design reviews.
-
Participate in designs that are “fast-tracked” to meet customer requirement changes and component obsolescence issues.

Work closely with production and repair departments to improve diagnostic and maintenance procedures.

Engage in all phases of product development, including concept, architecture, design, test, and service support.
Qualifications:
-
BS in Electrical Engineering required
-
Demonstrated industry experience in analog or power electronics design required; 8+ years preferred
-
Demonstrated technical leadership experience within an engineering organization; experience in the avionics industry preferred
-
Industry working knowledge of schematic entry and board layout such as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and Mentor Graphics PADS required
-
Industry working knowledge of circuit simulation tools such as TopSPICE and Mentor Graphics HyperLynx required
-
Experience performing design trade studies comparing functionality, quality, and cost required
-
Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
-
Must have experience in analog and power electronics design, development, and test
-
Must be capable of working independently in a lab environment
-
Experience in the design of electronics for avionics applications is desired
-
Proven ability to facilitate design reviews with key stake holders, including Design Engineering, Production, and Manufacturing

Strong verbal and written skills required
